Tiffany Shivers

Founder & Executive Director

Tiffany Shivers is the Founder and Executive Director of H.E.R. Journey Transitional Housing, a mission-driven organization focused on providing structured transitional housing solutions for veterans, youth aging out of foster care, survivors of domestic violence, and families in crisis.

​

With a strong focus on housing stability, real estate partnerships, and long-term infrastructure development, Tiffany is committed to building sustainable housing models that create measurable community impact. Her leadership is centered on accountability, strategic growth, and collaborative partnerships that strengthen both individuals and communities.

JeTrice Simmons

President

JeTrice Simmons is a dynamic leader, advocate, and community builder with over 15 years of experience in Human Resources and organizational leadership. Known for her people-first approach and unwavering commitment to service, JeTrice has dedicated her career to empowering individuals, strengthening communities, and creating spaces where others can thrive. 

​

She brings strategic leadership and a deep passion for advocacy, particularly for women and families navigating life's most challenging seasons. JeTrice is also the founder of the Untroubled brand, an initiative rooted in resilience and empowerment for single mothers who have faced adversity, encouraging them to reclaim their strength and walk boldly in their purpose. 

​

In recognition of her commitment to community impact and servant leadership, JeTrice will receive an Honorary Doctorate in April and will professionally be referred to as Dr. JeTrice Simmons. 

​

Above all, she is a proud mother of three and believes her greatest legacy is not only the lives she serves, but the example she sets, showing her children and others that resilience, faith, and purpose can transform adversity into impact.

D'Mitra D. Lofton

Vice President

D'Mitra D. Lofton: auditor, community engagement coordinator and proud mother. She is a seasoned public servant and community engagement leader with more than three decades of experience grounded in leadership, community engagement and a deep commitment to service. After relocating from Augusta, Georgia to Washington, D.C. to further her education, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity Washington University, which provided the foundation for her purpose-driven career. Her career in public service has been defined by a strong commitment to community, connection, collaboration and leadership. 

​

Throughout her journey, she's worked to build strong connections between organizations and communities they serve. She takes pride in being a collaborative leader who brings people together to create meaningful impact. Her passion for service extends beyond the workplace, as she actively engages in outreach initiatives through both her professional role and her church consistently supporting and uplifting families in need. 

​

As a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., D'Mitra embodies the organization values of sisterhood, scholarship and service. Her leadership approach is rooted in compassion, action and a firm belief that strengthening communities begin with genuine care, connection and showing up for others.

Nikia Sizer

Nikia Sizer is currently a manager within the hospitality and entertainment industry, bringing 17 years of Human Resources experience from the Federal Government. Passionate about volunteering, Nikia has dedicated time to multiple causes in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, to include SOME (So Others Might Eat), GTG Gives, and an annual food drive at the Adams Place Men's Shelter. With a blend of creative leadership, a strategic HR background, a deep understanding of talent management, and having led initiatives in workforce development and policy, she brings a collaborative spirit and inclusive mindset to the board, driving equity and impact in every endeavor.

Nikia attended Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA, with a major in Business Admiration and Early Childhood Education. Outside of the boardroom, she immerses herself in leading and planning events and community engagement, most recently within the Veterans community in Prince Georges County, MD.

Toni Session

Meet Toni Session, LPC, LCPC—a steadfast servant and seasoned counselor, passionately
advocating for mental health in both the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland. Born in
Bridgeport, CT, and blossoming in Southern Maryland, Toni’s journey led her from a BA in
Psychology with a Pre-Law minor at Johnson C. Smith University to mastering Marriage, Family,
and Couples Therapy at Capella University in 2014. Toni is a proud member of Lambda
Omicron Chi Christian Sorority, Inc and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
 
Toni treasures the belief that individuals are the true experts of their own lives. As a licensed
luminary in therapeutic guidance, she is committed to compassionately collaborating with clients,
helping them harness their inherent insights to evolve into the best versions of themselves and
unlock their ultimate potential. Join her journey as she journeys with others, guiding growth and
fostering transformation with professional prowess and profound empathy.

Robert Miller

Robert Miller was born and raised in Greenville, Alabama, where he developed a strong foundation of service, leadership, and community values. He attended Alabama State University, further shaping his commitment to excellence and public service. He served 15 years in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to mission success. Throughout his career, he served alongside the United States Marine Corps and with Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, completing four tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His distinguished service earned him two Navy Commendation Medals, five Navy Achievement Medals, the Operation Iraqi Freedom Campaign Medal, and numerous other military awards. He also served overseas across four different continents, further broadening his operational and global experience.

 

Following his active-duty service, Robert continued his commitment to the nation by serving with the Department of the Navy at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). He currently serves as the Privacy Act Program and Compliance Manager and Team Lead for the Freedom of Information Act Program, where he oversees statutory compliance, safeguards sensitive information, and ensures transparency across the enterprise. Through both military and civilian service, he remains dedicated to protecting national interests while upholding the public’s trust.
